Privacy Policy
Gurukool is a place to watch stories and, for publishers and authors, to turn books into animated series. We collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and this page says plainly what we keep.
What we collect
Account details when you sign in: your email address, name and profile picture if you provide one, and the sign-in method you used. Sign-in is handled by an identity provider on our behalf; we do not see or store your password.
Viewing information: which episodes you watched, in which language, and roughly how far, so we can resume playback and improve the catalogue.
Studio information, for workspace members only: the projects, source texts, screenplays, character sheets and rendered clips you create, and the credit balance and payment history of your workspace. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never touch our servers.
Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected in server logs and by the analytics and advertising services described below.
How we use it
To run the service: sign you in, play episodes, render and store the projects you create, and bill workspaces for what they use.
To improve it: understand which stories and languages people watch, and where the studio is confusing or slow.
To keep it safe: detect abuse, enforce our terms and protect the rights of authors and publishers whose work is on the platform.
We do not use your personal information to train AI models, and we do not sell it to anyone.
Advertising and cookies
The public catalogue may show advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve ads based on your visit to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com, and most browsers let you block or delete cookies.
Where our content is directed at children, ads are served in non-personalised mode and no interest-based profiling is used.
We use functional cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language. These are necessary for the site to work.
Children
Many of our stories are made for families and young viewers. Watching does not require an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age of consent in your country) without a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Who we share it with
Service providers who process data on our behalf: identity, payment, video hosting and delivery, cloud infrastructure, email, analytics and advertising. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
Authorities, when the law requires it. Nobody else.
Where it lives and how long
Our servers are in the United States. Account and viewing data is kept while your account exists and for up to 90 days after deletion. Workspace projects are kept while the workspace exists. Server logs are kept for 30 days.
Your choices
You can see and export your data, correct it, or delete your account by writing to us. Workspace owners can delete their projects from the studio. If you are in the EU, UK or a jurisdiction with similar rights, you can also object to processing or complain to your data-protection authority.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site before they take effect.
