Terms of Service
By using Gurukool — the website, the app, and the studio — you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask us before relying on it.
The service
Gurukool publishes animated series adapted from epics, fables and books, in several languages, and provides a studio in which publishers and authors turn their own texts into such series. Trailers are free to everyone; full episodes may require a free account.
All video, voices and music on Gurukool are generated with AI under human direction. Characters and events in mythological and literary stories are depicted as tradition tells them; they are not statements of fact.
Your account
Keep your sign-in to yourself and tell us if you think it has been used without your permission. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Studio workspaces are created by Gurukool on invitation. A workspace owner is responsible for the people they add to it and for what the workspace produces.
Your content and rights
When a workspace uploads a text, it confirms that it holds the rights needed to adapt that text into video, including any rights of the author, translator and illustrator, or that the text is in the public domain.
You keep the rights to the text you upload and to the series made from it. You grant Gurukool a licence to store, process, render, host and stream that material in order to provide the service, and, once you request publication and we approve it, to show the series in the Gurukool catalogue and on Gurukool channels with your name or your publisher's name credited.
Publication to the public catalogue is at Gurukool's editorial discretion. We may decline or remove a series that infringes rights, is unsafe for the audience, or does not meet our standards, and we will tell you why.
Credits and payment
Rendering, voices and music consume credits, which workspaces buy in advance. Prices shown in the studio are estimates; the amount actually deducted depends on clip length, languages, re-renders and the providers used, and can be higher or lower than the estimate. Credits are not refundable once spent on a render, even if you choose not to use the result. Unused credits are refundable within 30 days of purchase on request.
Acceptable use
Do not use the studio to make material that is unlawful, that infringes someone's rights, that sexualises minors, that promotes hatred or violence against people, or that impersonates a real person without consent. Do not attempt to access other workspaces, scrape the catalogue, or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Children
Gurukool is designed for families. Accounts are for adults; a parent or guardian may create an account and watch with a child. The studio is for organisations and adults only.
Warranties and liability
The service is provided as is. Rendering may fail, providers may change, and a series may look different from what you imagined. We do not promise any particular result. To the extent the law allows, Gurukool's liability to you is limited to the credits you paid for in the three months before the claim.
Changes and termination
We may change the service and these terms; material changes will be announced on the site before they take effect. You may close your account at any time. We may close accounts that break these terms, and we will return unused credits unless the closure is for abuse.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, and disputes will be resolved in its courts, unless the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be waived.
